Struggling to Be Me

I write this with humility, to share part of my story: my growth, my spiritual path, and the journey of discovering who I truly am.

For some reason, as a child I took in the belief that if I wasn't happy, God wasn't with me, and that I must be doing something wrong. I felt things deeply, but my emotions, especially anxiety and sadness, made me feel like a failure. I thought that if I was struggling, it meant I wasn't good enough or wasn't in tune with God. And yet, even in those moments of shame and self-judgment, I knew deep inside that He was always there. That contradiction, feeling deeply connected to God while being ashamed of my emotions, shaped the way I experienced life.

I have always been someone who feels intensely. But for a long time I rejected that part of myself, believing my emotions made me small, unworthy, somehow less than others. Even now, as I walk this path of awakening and healing, I still find traces of that old way of thinking. I think I've moved past it, and then I uncover new layers still lingering inside me.

Sharing this openly takes courage, because even as a spiritual mentor, and despite what my ego might like to believe, I am still walking this path myself. And I know I'm not alone. Like many of you, I keep discovering deeper parts of myself and watching old patterns resurface. Sometimes emotions come up that make me feel small. Sometimes I don't feel aligned. And that's okay.

What has truly helped me on this journey is acceptance: surrendering to these emotions as teachers rather than obstacles. I no longer see them as enemies, but as guides that reveal deeper truths about who I am. I have come to understand that I didn't come here to be perfect or to reach some distant state of enlightenment. I came here to experience, to feel the full range of emotions this world of contrasts offers, with its light and darkness, its joy and sorrow. That is the essence of life itself. And in that acceptance, I find peace.

I remind myself that I am safe, that I am worthy, and that I am never separate from God. Being without Him is impossible, because I am one with Him. I exist within Him, as part of His creation, made from His breath and filled with His essence. There is no moment when He is absent, and no experience that happens outside of Him.

With this understanding, I choose more and more to be who I truly am, and to let myself be seen. Not to erase fear, but to transform it into light, into love, into a way of honoring the creation that I am. And yes, being vulnerable can feel dangerous. There is always that whisper: What if someone hurts me? What if they reject me? But I choose to stand in the deep trust that I am safe.

What can hurt me most is my own perception, the meaning I give to what I live. If I believe something is harmful, that belief shapes my reality. But that belief is also a creation, just like anxiety, sadness or any other emotional state that comes up.

My journey has been one of transformation: taking heavy energies and turning them into light, love and truth. These three, together with surrender, are the foundation of my daily life.

So yes, I am walking this path, gently peeling away the layers that have covered my inner light, returning to the truth of who I am, and flowing into being. And I embrace the understanding that this journey isn't about arriving somewhere. It is about unfolding, becoming, and an ever-deepening awareness of who I am.

I am here. I am whole. And I am still walking.
